Director: Paul Schrader His 2nd Movie My 8th movie watched from the directorThis movie came out exactly thirty years before "Taken" and shares so many similarities. They are both very entertaining, but this one is far less violent. The ending was also quite a different tone... I don't want to spoil what happens. As with Neeson, this happens to be one of George C. Scott's best roles as it really showcases his range and asks him to go outside his previous reputation.Added to Lists: Top Ten Films - Paul Schrader Top Ten Performances - George C. Director: Nisha Ganatra Her 6th Movie My 1st movie watched from the directorYes, it's full of cliches and it's sometimes dull, but I at least wanted to watch the whole thing... though the ending was bland, too. Hell, at least Emma Thompson was really great in it, a solid role for her.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Emma Thompson (Honorable Mention) __________ Locations: Midtown Manhattan, NYC, NY, USA

Director: Robert Rossen His 10th (and Final) Movie My 3rd movie watched from the directorBeatty and Fonda are pretty strong in this, but it's Seberg's movie the whole time. She is incredible, making it impossible to keep your eyes off of her, with her beauty, but also with her performance. It's one where you never know what she is going to do, in basically every scene. Also, Gene Hackman surprised me, showing up late in the film and delivers a strong one-scene-only performance. It's a mysterious movie that never gives us the full answers to our questions. There are some confusing scenes that seemed unnecessary and the ending was pretty rough.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Jean Seberg Top Ten Performances - Warren Beatty Favorite Sapphic Scenes Best One-Scene-Only Performances - Gene Hackman __________ Locations: Rockville, MD, USA

Director: Jeff Nichols His 2nd Movie My 5th movie watched from the directorWow, this was an impressive second feature for Nichols and full of really good performances. I can't believe it took me this long to see this, especially considering I'm a big fan of Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. The movie ended exactly how I wanted it to.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Michael Shannon Top Ten Performances - Jessica Chastain Top Ten Performances - Shea Whigham Am I Crazy? __________ Locations: LaGrange, OH, USA

Director: Safdie Brothers Their 5th Movie My 2nd movie watched from the directorsEntertainingly kinetic and effortlessly evoking, this Safdie Brothers movie paved the way for the even more kinetic and evoking movie I enjoyed more, Uncut Gems. It's been on my list for about six years now and glad I finally got to it. Not that we are supposed to, but I didn't like any of the characters, which makes it tough for me to truly enjoy. The only thing I did like about them was the love and care for each other, as brothers, even if far from selfless.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Robert Pattinson For Your Brother Bank Robberies at the Movies __________ Locations: Queens, NYC, NY, USA

Director: Yorgos Lanthimos His 8th Movie My 6th movie watched from the directorA visual feast filled with powerful performances in a crazy story that keeps us intrigued the entire time. This is the best work from Lanthimos and he is at the peak of his career and should be clearly now a name director.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Emma Stone Top Ten Performances - Willem Dafoe (Honorable Mention) Top Ten Performances - Christopher Abbott Coming of a Age Movies for the Ages Dancing the Scene Away - Favorite Dance Scenes Best Production Designs __________ Locations: London, UK; Lisbon, Portugal; Paris, France

Season 16
It finally happened, this show finally lost its spark. My favorite comedy of all time, 15 incredible years and now one that is simply... pretty funny but rarely hilarious. They seemed to change some characters, like Mac just being a one-note moron the whole time, and the presentation is no longer loose and provocative, it seemed to focus on gags and jokes that just didn't land. As hard as it was to see I can't say I didn't find a lot of what they did at least funny and they did end the season with its funniest episode. ----------Main Locations: Philadelphia, PA, USA
