Second Half of 2021
((Listened April - June)) I started listening to this last year and have found it's impossible to skip a single episode, so it's taking a while to get through. Easily the most entertaining show that's set up to talk about nothing but these four make anything interesting and transition from topic to topic effortlessly. They present each subject, idea, conflict, theory, opinion with a perfect blend of immaturity and brilliance.

Season 4 (Final Season)
A final season that feels like it should not be. It continues to provide great commentary on race relations, societal woes and trends, and of course perfectly executed surrealism. ----------Main Locations: Atlanta, GA, USA

2024
Director: David Leitch His 5th Movie My 5th movie watched from the directorCharismatic leads, great pace, confusing tones, and brilliant action with an obvious emphasis on real stunts. It's a clear ode to the stunt man, directed by a stunt man, and with that being the centerpiece it's very affective. The end credits solidify this and it's actually kind of beautiful especially in a time where people rely so much on VFX to replace real stunts.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Ryan Gosling (Honorable Mention) Best Karaoke Scenes __________ Locations: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

Director: James Erskine His 13th Movie My 1st movie watched from the directorI expected more from this doc about Billie Holiday. The focus and intention is unclear and confusing. The video clips and insights from other performers and people who knew her was great. Still, I didn't come away from it feeling like I now know her and what her life meant to the world.Added to Lists: First Name Only Titles __________

Director: Bentley Dean His 4th Movie My 1st movie watched from the directorA documentary filled with stunning imagery and beautiful control from the cinematographer. The surfing is appropriately the best part and what kept us interested. The people in it I din't care so much about. The story actually kind of bothered me, especially the moments when he is apparently caring so much about his wife and kids and the goes and faces death for not a strong enough reason. But I guess I'm not addicted to giant waves.Added to Lists: A Dozen Great Surfing Documentaries __________ Locations: Western and Souther Australia Coasts

Director: Paul Schrader His 2nd Movie My 8th movie watched from the directorThis movie came out exactly thirty years before "Taken" and shares so many similarities. They are both very entertaining, but this one is far less violent. The ending was also quite a different tone... I don't want to spoil what happens. As with Neeson, this happens to be one of George C. Scott's best roles as it really showcases his range and asks him to go outside his previous reputation.Added to Lists: Top Ten Films - Paul Schrader Top Ten Performances - George C. Director: Nisha Ganatra Her 6th Movie My 1st movie watched from the directorYes, it's full of cliches and it's sometimes dull, but I at least wanted to watch the whole thing... though the ending was bland, too. Hell, at least Emma Thompson was really great in it, a solid role for her.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Emma Thompson (Honorable Mention) __________ Locations: Midtown Manhattan, NYC, NY, USA

Director: Robert Rossen His 10th (and Final) Movie My 3rd movie watched from the directorBeatty and Fonda are pretty strong in this, but it's Seberg's movie the whole time. She is incredible, making it impossible to keep your eyes off of her, with her beauty, but also with her performance. It's one where you never know what she is going to do, in basically every scene. Also, Gene Hackman surprised me, showing up late in the film and delivers a strong one-scene-only performance. It's a mysterious movie that never gives us the full answers to our questions. There are some confusing scenes that seemed unnecessary and the ending was pretty rough.Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - Jean Seberg Top Ten Performances - Warren Beatty Favorite Sapphic Scenes Best One-Scene-Only Performances - Gene Hackman __________ Locations: Rockville, MD, USA
