Director: Jacque Audiard His 8th movie My 3rd movie watched from the directorAudiard has such a controlled style to his direction and is great at capturing unusual characteristics in familiar characters. Coogan is great, and it's filled with many interesting characters, even if we seem to not see them enough. Director: Bong Joon Ho His 3rd movie My 3rd movie watched from the directorYou can see the mastery at work here, with a small budget. Bong's direction and cleverness shine above the primitive production. Director: Danny Boyle His 12th movie My 14th movie watched from the directorIt took me five years to see this movie I was waiting five years before the release, after hearing about its inception. Though not great, I would still say it's worth the wait. Boyle creatively positions its main characters in a position that makes sense twenty years later. Nothing remarkable happens, I say this because I kept on sensing this would happen, but each scene beautiful engages the audience and develops the characters more. So many scenes started off interesting and then died. The final few scenes were maybe the only ones. This was a character study movie but I didn't like any of the characters. Otherwise the production quality was strong all around. Cumberbatch acting was the highlight of the movie.

Director: Steven Spielberg His 34th movie My 34th movie watched from the directorThe original is classic with a few dated elements, but otherwise nothing that needed such a replication. I thought Spielberg was going to make this more his own rather than it being so much like the original and botching the most popular song from it (Somewhere). The ending was a little different, too, but also weaker. Director: Michael Showalter His 6th movie My 3rd movie watched from the directorIt's a fairly straight-forward biopic from a lesser-known person with the clear highlight being Jessica Chastain's performance. She is a powerhouse in this and continues to cement herself as one of the best actresses in the business. She also has a strong supporting cast.
