Director: Ron Howard His 31st movie My 25th movie watched from the directorSeveral very strong performances in Ron Howard's adaptation that partly takes place in the 90s and definitely feels like a movie made in the 90s. Critics don't like that, but I love the touch and it reminds me of a better movie decade. This is a solid story about abuse and how someone can persevere from such a situation, with a young daughter on her own and no money. The story does a good job of making her human, by making plenty of mistakes, but still finding a way to be there for her daughter and find her a better life. ---------- Main Locations: Port Townsend, WA, USA

Director: Joshua Rofé His 4th movie My 1st movie watched from the directorThis movie has a deceptive title, as the betrayal and greed wasn't necessary to tell his story. The Kowalski's were terrible people who were greedy and and betrayed Bob Ross and his family, yes; but there was so much more to his life than that and it's just an unfortunate title, especially because the filmmakers were really kind of stretching and should have just made a more compelling documentary about his life.Added to Lists: Painting Documentaries __________

Season 3
Back to fighting the Russians! This is a very timely season that is great a season itself, with the story being compelling and unfolding in a very interesting way, but it actually didn't add much to the character of Jack Ryan. There doesn't seem to be so much a focus on his arc. If that's on purpose, fine, but when the guy's name is in the title expectations come with it. Krazinski and cast are still top-notch and the production value is still all there, continuing to make this one of Prime's best shows. ---------- Main Locations: Moscow, Russia; Prague, Czechia; Rome, Italy
