Back to fighting the Russians! This is a very timely season that is great a season itself, with the story being compelling and unfolding in a very interesting way, but it actually didn't add much to the character of Jack Ryan. There doesn't seem to be so much a focus on his arc. If that's on purpose, fine, but when the guy's name is in the title expectations come with it. Krazinski and cast are still top-notch and the production value is still all there, continuing to make this one of Prime's best shows. ---------- Main Locations: Moscow, Russia; Prague, Czechia; Rome, Italy

Director: Noah Baumbach His 13th movie My 10th movie watched from the directorThis is the most ambitious movie from Baumbach, a director who typically makes low-key movies. It's still dialogue heavy, one of his trademarks. And, as usual, I love the dialogue - It's snappy, intelligent, and above all, strange. While it's not exactly a satisfying movie, I am perplexed by the generally low ratings. Maybe expectations were off? It is weird and not for everyone, so maybe with Netflix viewers people were expecting something more broad. My main issue with it is it seemed like two movies trying to be one. Limited Series
This was my wife's pick and I wasn't so sure about it, especially after an uninteresting first episode. I am so glad we stuck it out as this ended up being a very strong, emotionally beautiful smart series.
